Miles Lim

Miles Lim is a hybrid engineer and creator who combines technical engineering skills with product innovation. He pursued a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at UCLA, where his doctoral research focused on the mechanical response of micro granular crystals towards impact resistant materials.13

During his time at UCLA, Lim also co-founded BananaBlades Corporation, where he serves as the Chief Banana Officer. This venture combines his strategic and technical skills to innovate in the snow-sports industry.1

Prior to his doctoral studies, Lim earned a B.A. in Chemistry from Bard College and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA.1 He has experience as a Strategy and Innovation Analyst Intern at Pilot44, where he helped Fortune 100 companies adopt startup-like approaches to launch new ventures.1

Lim's entrepreneurial journey began while skiing, when he and a partner decided to create their own mini skis, leading to the formation of BananaBlades.2 This experience showcases his ability to apply engineering skills to practical, market-driven innovations.

In addition to his academic and entrepreneurial pursuits, Lim has been recognized for his athletic achievements, including a 9th place finish in the Mountain Biking National Championships and receiving the Team Award from Bard College Lacrosse.1
