Miles Berry
Miles Berry is an experienced educator, lecturer, and researcher with a wide range of interests and expertise in computing education, including pedagogies of computing education, use of open-source software, independent learning, and online communities in professional learning. Berry has a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, an MBA in Educational Management from the University of Leicester, and a BA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge.
Currently, Berry serves as the principal lecturer and subject leader for Computing Education at the University of Roehampton, where he runs their secondary PGCE in computer science and teaches on their primary PGCE and Digital Media degree. He also serves on multiple professional boards, including the BCS Academy of Computing Board, the management board of Computing at School, and the independent schools council digital strategy group, among others. Berry has contributed to several computing-related projects, including the national curriculum computing programs of study, the CAS/Naace guide to the computing curriculum for primary teachers, and training of CAS master teachers.
Additional projects Berry has contributed to include Rising Stars Switched on Computing, Barefoot Computing, Code Club Pro's training materials, BBC Bitesize primary computing resources, QuickStart Computing for the BCS and Microsoft, CAS TV, and Project Quantum. Berry is also an international rep on the CSTA's board of directors and a member of the Raspberry Pi Foundation.
