Mikko Karvonen

Mikko Karvonen is a seasoned professional in the digital media and electronic music industries. He has honed his expertise in these fields since 1997, with experience in both Europe and the United States. Mikko's international experience has given him extensive knowledge in various technology startups, particularly the Barcelona and Helsinki tech scenes. His specialties include iOS, mobile technology, augmented and mixed reality (AR/MR/XR), Unity programming, gaming, digital audio signal processing, client-server infrastructures, RIA development, technical project management, music information retrieval, agile methods, and the Scrum way of working. Mikko is fluent in various programming languages, including Swift, Objective-C, C#, ActionScript 3 / Flex, Java, PHP, Node.js, Lua, DHTML & JavaScript & CSS (aka HTML 5), CoffeeScript, Python, and MATLAB. He is also knowledgeable in various databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MSSQL, and is familiar with operating systems such as AmigaOS, Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. Mikko is comfortable working with both Logic Studio, Ableton Live, Renoise & Pro Tools Digital Audio Workstations.

Mikko has an extensive academic background. He studied M.Sc. Computer Science at the University of Helsinki, Digital Communication at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and Music Technology at Sibelius-Akatemia - Sibelius-Akademin. Mikko holds various positions in different organizations, including Co-Founder and CPO of Immersal Ltd, Founder and member of the board at katastro.fi, and partner at Luup Culture.
