Mikko Huumo

Mikko Huumo is a venture capital investor in the Helen Ventures team, with a focus on investing in European seed and series A startups in digital energy solutions, e-mobility, circular economy, and decarbonization.

Previously, Mikko led the Fortum Corporate Venture Capital unit and worked as a Senior Consultant at Pöyry Energy Management Consulting.

Throughout his career, Mikko has founded a business at 17, managed it for over 20 years, led a 25MEUR wave power project in Scotland, acquired an e-mobility software platform company in Berlin, set up a 150MEUR venture capital firm, and worked in Fortum's Business Technology division management team.

For the past 15 years, Mikko has been actively investing and collaborating with founders in the energy, circular economy, cleantech, and e-mobility sectors.

Aside from his professional engagements, Mikko enjoys coaching his son's football team, where he not only learns about football but also about himself.

Mikko studied at Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan.

He currently serves as the Director at Helen Ventures and has held various board positions and roles in companies like enspired, &Charge GmbH, LiveEO, Gradyent, AW-Energy Oy, and Stereoscape among others.
