Mike Williams (Yoroomie), Founding Partner at Marketplace Capital

Mike Williams, also known as Yoroomie on social media, is the Founding Partner of Marketplace Capital, a $10M venture fund that backs early-stage marketplaces.135 He recently announced the launch of Marketplace Capital in July 2023, with the goal of supporting marketplace founders through investments of $50k-$250k+ primarily at the Pre-Seed to Series A stages.3

Prior to Marketplace Capital, Mike founded Everything Marketplaces in 2020, which has grown to become a community of over 2,400 marketplace contributors, including founders and leaders from major marketplaces like Airbnb, Uber, eBay, and Thumbtack.4 He also previously ran Thinkbox, a startup studio focused on building marketplaces using no-code and low-code tools.12

Some of Mike's other entrepreneurial ventures include:

• Studiotime: The first company launched out of Thinkbox, Studiotime was an online marketplace for booking music studios that Mike scaled to 35+ countries over 8+ years before its successful acquisition in 20211
• Yoroomie App: A mobile-first marketplace that Mike built and launched in 30 days, which was acquired within six months after launch1
• Codeity: A hiring platform for software developers that Mike founded and later sold in 2015 after raising an early funding round1

Mike is known for his expertise in building and scaling marketplaces, as well as his focus on leveraging no-code and low-code tools to accelerate the process.2 With the launch of Marketplace Capital, he aims to further support and invest in promising early-stage marketplace startups.
