Mike Spear is a seasoned law enforcement professional with a diverse background in various specialized units within the Austin Police Department.

Currently serving as the Supervisor of the Counter Assault Strike Team (Counter Active Shooter Team) at the Austin Police Department, Mike brings extensive experience in tactical operations and crisis response.

With a strong foundation in combat and security operations from his service as an Infantryman/Machine Gunner in the United States Army, Mike transitioned to a distinguished career in law enforcement.

His previous roles within the Austin Police Department include significant positions such as the Human Trafficking Unit Sergeant, Narcotics Unit Sergeant, SWAT Team Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, Bomb Squad Detective/Bomb Technician, Gang Unit Detective, SWAT Team Sniper, and Police Officer.
