Mike Gustafson

Mike Gustafson is a Partner at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, specializing in finance and restructuring.12 He represents clients in a wide range of financial and corporate matters, including complex financial transactions, corporate debt restructuring, prebankruptcy contingency planning, distressed asset purchases, joint ventures, and financial litigation matters.1 Gustafson focuses his practice on bankruptcy and distressed asset matters, regularly assisting clients with chapter 11 proceedings.1

Based in Chicago, Gustafson joined Faegre Baker Daniels (now Faegre Drinker) in January 2018.2 He was promoted to Partner in 2021.3 Prior to joining Faegre Drinker, he worked at Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago, where he developed his skills in restructuring and bankruptcy.2

Gustafson graduated magna cum laude from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif.1 He earned his B.A. in American Government, cum laude, from Georgetown University in 2002.1

In his professional capacity, Gustafson has experience representing clients in various industries, including food and agriculture, financial services, health care, mining, biotech, manufacturing, multifamily housing, arts and entertainment, senior housing and care, and transportation.1
