Mike Ghaffary

Mike Ghaffary is a General Partner at Canvas Ventures, a venture capital firm based in San Francisco that focuses on early-stage investments in technology companies. He joined Canvas Ventures in March 2019, expanding the firm's team of general partners. Ghaffary's investment focus includes marketplaces, commerce, proptech, and food tech, and he is involved in several boards, such as Flyhomes, Darwin Homes, and ResQ.12

Professional Background

Before joining Canvas, Ghaffary had an extensive career in both operations and venture capital. He was the CEO of Eat24, a food delivery service acquired by Yelp, where he significantly scaled the company to $700 million in annual gross revenue. Prior to that, he held the position of Vice President of Business Development at Yelp, leading over 200 partnerships with major companies like Apple and Microsoft, and was instrumental in Yelp's acquisition of Eat24.123

Ghaffary also co-founded Stitcher, a podcasting platform, and served as a Vice President at TrialPay, a payments company acquired by Visa. His venture capital career began at Summit Partners in 2006, and he later worked as a General Partner at Social Capital before moving to Canvas Ventures.132

Mike Ghaffary holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and both a JD and an MBA from Harvard University.13
