In 1997, at the young age of 27, Mike was appointed Artistic Director and co-CEO of Circus Oz, a position he held for an impressive span of over 17 years until 2015. As part of an executive trio, Mike played a vital role in steering the organization through both artistic and business dimensions, collaborating with a team that consistently maintained its membership for 16 years. Under his guidance, Circus Oz flourished, producing critically acclaimed shows that captivated national and international audiences. Mike's responsibilities included curating and directing all artistic performances, showcasing his versatile talents in directing and touring.
One of his major achievements during his tenure was the co-development of a new $18 million Home Base for Circus Oz in Collingwood, Melbourne. Mike made the conscious decision to conclude his artistic directorship in 2015, shortly after the new venue celebrated its first anniversary, marking a significant milestone in the company's evolution. Even after stepping down from his leadership role, he continued to contribute to Circus Oz as a Company Member, actively participating in Board Appointments at Annual General Meetings.
Currently, Mike is immersed in the arts community as a freelance Consultant, Director, and Producer. His clientele includes prestigious organizations such as NORPA, the Mullum Circus Festival, the Sydney Opera House, and White Night, where his visionary approach continues to shape and inspire the world of performance arts from his base in Fitzroy, Melbourne, Australia.

Mike's academic journey reflects his passion for theatre and media, starting with his Higher School Certificate with a focus on English Language and Literature from Duval High School in Armidale, New South Wales. He pursued further education with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, specializing in Theatre/Media, Video Production, and Communications at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst.
