Michelle Repiso
Photographer
Michelle Repiso is a professional photographer born in Puerto Rico and raised in Northern Virginia, with a BFA in Photography from The Corcoran School of the Arts and Design in Washington, D.C.
Having received awards and recognition for her work, Michelle has an extensive background in photography, including commercial, portrait, documentary, and still life photography.
She has showcased her work in various galleries in D.C., Philadelphia, and New York, with her first solo show at The Corcoran Alumni Gallery.
Michelle has served on the Alexandria Commission for the Arts - Visual Arts Resource Panel, reviewing and selecting artist grants.
In addition to her commercial work, Michelle is actively involved in facilitating art and photography workshops for children impacted by cancer through organizations like Gilda's Club in NY and the Pablove Foundation.
She has also extended her artistic reach by developing art programming at Rikers Island for the Youthful Offender Division and creating Create & Connect to foster communication through art projects for incarcerated individuals.
Michelle was awarded a Creative Engagement Grant from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council to continue developing her documentary project, Basic Necessities, highlighting art and creativity in unexpected places.
Currently, Michelle is an adjunct faculty member at the International Center of Photography (ICP), Teen Academy, and a certified M/WBE business based in New York City, working in both analog and digital photography formats.
