Executive Vice President, Finance & Business Affairs

As a Business Systems Consultant, I collaborated with the founder to leverage technology for optimizing business processes, aiming to position the company as the industry leader in the tax credit process. I researched and implemented cutting-edge solutions across accounting, project management, form building, and scheduling platforms. I played a pivotal role in setting up new project and client management workflows, including a client portal. Additionally, I created essential guidelines and forms to streamline key audit team processes.

Business Systems Consultant

As a key member of the Executive Team, led the strategic direction and implementation of short-term and long-term initiatives for the Commercial Film Tax Incentives division. Ensured alignment with company objectives, seamless execution of operations, and maintained a strong customer-centric focus.

Partnered with IT to optimize the Salesforce platform for enhanced management of the film tax incentive submission process, communication tracking, and report generation. Streamlined communication with production/payroll companies, advertising agencies, clients, and state auditors, significantly reducing average turnaround time for tax incentive submissions.

Directed the development and execution of key initiatives, including comprehensive training programs, Salesforce data integration, and state compliance projects for 10 states.

Directed the Audit Prep department, providing strategic direction and leadership to a team of 15+ employees. Revitalized processes for accuracy and timeliness, significantly increasing the number and value of submissions through strategic enhancements.

Led the data collection process for vital film tax incentive documentation from production companies, agencies, and payroll entities. Established efficient procedures for data collection and entry, crafting state-specific submission templates across multiple states to align with Film Tax Incentive regulations and guidelines. Ensured precision and compliance by reviewing and endorsing final commercial tax incentive submissions. Conducted annual reviews of state programs, promptly communicating legislative and procedural changes to the team for seamless adaptation. Collaborated closely with auditors in states requiring audits.

In collaboration with advertising agencies and clients, managed the simultaneous collection of tax incentive materials for 75–100 projects. Conducted monthly status meetings, addressing inquiries and delivering concise summary reports to agencies. Implemented an effective email communication system, streamlining exchanges and expediting film tax incentive submissions.

Drove the transformation of the Audit Prep department amidst rapid business expansion, overseeing its growth from two to over 10 members while effectively managing increasing workloads. Led recruitment efforts, providing strategic direction and fostering a positive and high-performance work culture.
