Michelle Lai

Michelle Lai is the Director of Career Services at Formation, a platform focused on helping software engineers, particularly those from nontraditional and underrepresented backgrounds, secure positions in top-tier tech companies. She joined Formation in April 2021 and has since been instrumental in developing training programs aimed at enhancing the technical skills and interview readiness of software engineering fellows.13

Before her role at Formation, Michelle had a diverse career in tech and career coaching. She founded ReflectedWorth, where she provides tailored coaching for senior and executive clients in software engineering and product management. Her previous positions include serving as a Talent Manager at Triplebyte, a Career Services Manager at Galvanize, and a Student Success Manager at Holberton School, where she developed career preparedness curricula.24

Michelle holds a degree from Carnegie Mellon University and has over a decade of experience as an engineer before transitioning to career empowerment roles.
