Michelle Amerongen-van is dedicated to making cities livable, vibrant, and economically attractive.
As a process coordinator for the Omgevingswet (Environmental Law) since late 2020, Michelle collaborates with municipalities in the Rijk van Nijmegen region to successfully implement the Omgevingswet by January 1st.
She focuses on fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, inspiration, and operational efficiency among the municipalities to meet this goal.
Michelle also spearheads initiatives to enhance the attractiveness of ports and markets, ensure proper municipal management, and prepare for future challenges, actively involving entrepreneurs in these endeavors.
Her overarching objective is to have markets and ports contribute to creating a beautiful, livable, and economically robust city.
Michelle Amerongen-van's educational background includes studies at Radboud University and Hanzehogeschool Groningen (Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen).
She has held various roles in different municipalities, such as strategic policy advisor at Gemeente Nijmegen, former adviser positions at Gemeente Arnhem, and prior roles at gemeente Wijchen, Oranjewoud, and Gemeente Groningen.
