Michal Matul
Inclusive insurance and digital health in emerging markets
Michal Matul is an international development specialist with a strong background in understanding the livelihoods and behaviors of low-income individuals in emerging markets.
He excels in translating consumer insights into client-focused insurance, financial services, and other development solutions.
Michal pursued a Master's degree in Economic Demography in Developing Countries from Sciences Po, a PhD in Economics from the University of Warsaw, and a Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Management, and Marketing from Warsaw School of Economics.
With a wealth of experience, Michal has held key positions in various organizations such as AXA, where he served as the head of VAS, consumer insights, and training, as well as a Senior Advisor in the Emerging Customers division.
Prior to his roles at AXA, he worked at the Impact Insurance Facility of the International Labour Organization, where he held positions including Chief Project Manager, Senior Research Officer, Head of Knowledge Team, and Research Officer.
Michal also contributed to the Microfinance Centre (MFC) for CEE and the NIS as a Program Manager and Researcher, and at PlaNet Finance as a Program Coordinator.
