Michael Watson

J. Michael Watson, the founder and Managing Partner of Independence Commercial Advisors, has been a dominant figure in the central and south Texas commercial real estate markets for nearly two decades.

His journey in commercial real estate began at Marcus & Millichap, a national real estate investment brokerage firm, where he excelled to become the top producing agent for the Austin and San Antonio regions. His exceptional performance led to multiple national sales awards and a place among the 'Top 10' producers in Texas.

In 2008, Mike's outstanding abilities were recognized with a promotion to Regional Manager for Marcus & Millichap's Austin & San Antonio operation. He expanded the firm's presence by launching new offices in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and New Mexico, subsequently earning the distinction of Vice President in 2012.

Apart from his real estate achievements, Mike has a rich history of service and leadership. He served in commanding roles in field artillery units and recruiting commands in the United States Marine Corps. Post his military service, he held corporate finance positions at Advanced Micro Devices in Austin.

Mike holds a bachelor's degree in geology and an MBA from Texas A&M University, enhancing his skill set and knowledge for a successful career in commercial real estate.
