Michael Barnes

Michael W Barnes is an accomplished aquatic biologist and PADI Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor with a wealth of experience evaluating, managing, and maintaining local freshwater, marine, and coastal ecosystems. With degrees in Marine Biology and Oceanographic Technology, as well as certifications such as Florida Master Naturalist and Emergency First Response Instructor (EFR), Michael is equipped with the knowledge and expertise needed to monitor and care for aquatic species and their habitats. Additionally, as a former Aquatic Biologist and Technician at Florida Lake Management, Michael brings invaluable experience in managing and treating aquatic systems to preserve their natural ecosystems. His dedication to this field has earned him leadership roles as a science coordinator and team trainer with local artificial reef organizations in Florida, where he conducts species monitoring and material placement survey projects.
