Michael Vaughan

Michael Vaughan is an accomplished fintech operator and investor, currently serving as an Operating Partner at Stripes, a growth equity investment firm. He focuses on the global fintech sector, covering both consumer and enterprise software.34 Before joining Stripes in 2022, Vaughan was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Venmo, where he played a pivotal role in scaling the business to over 40 million active users and achieving a $300 million annual revenue run rate.34

In addition to his role at Stripes, Vaughan is a Co-founder and General Partner at Vera Equity, an early-stage fintech venture fund.12 He has a rich background in business development and product strategy, having previously held positions such as Venture Partner at Oak HC/FT and Vice President of Business Development at TicketLeap.23

Vaughan has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.34 He is also an active angel investor with a portfolio of more than 75 high-growth tech companies.4
