Michael Torpey

Michael Torpey is a successful and passionate Senior Automotive Designer based in Southern California with extensive experience in the field, including overseas work in Korea and the UK.

With over 19 years in automotive design, Michael has specialized in production and concept interior design, exterior design, leading creative teams, and various aspects of transportation design.

Throughout his career, Michael Torpey has led key projects including designing the original 'Kia Soul' vehicle for Kia Motors and being a significant contributor to Cadillac's 'Art & Science' Brand/Design Revitalization.

His areas of expertise include future product conceptualization, professional exterior and interior design, and creative project leadership.

Michael Torpey holds a BA in Transportation Design from the College for Creative Studies, as well as studied Industrial Design at Rochester Institute of Technology, among other educational accomplishments.

He has held positions at prestigious organizations such as Kia Motors America, General Motors, and as a Transportation Design Instructor at the College for Creative Studies.
