Michael Thorpe

Michael Thorpe is a former RPA Lead at Octopus Investments who has since moved on to other roles. He served as Head of RPA at Octopus Investments from September 2018 to November 2020.1 During his time there, he led the RPA team, aligning objectives with company strategy and ensuring KPIs were met. He was responsible for making the team profitable and revenue-generating, while also building the RPA brand within the wider Octopus group.1

Prior to becoming Head of RPA, Thorpe worked as an RPA Developer at Octopus Investments from July 2017 to September 2018. In this role, he was responsible for automating various cross-system, cross-team processes and driving the RPA brand within the company.1

Thorpe's background includes:

• A law degree from the University of Nottingham (2009-2012)1
• Experience in Business Analysis and sales management1
• Roles in client onboarding and operational change at Octopus Investments before moving into RPA1

After leaving Octopus Investments, Thorpe worked as a Senior Automation Developer and then as a Solutions Consultant at Blue Prism.1 As of February 2024, he was still actively involved in the field of intelligent automation.2
