    Michael T. Sterling is a highly skilled attorney with vast experience in various litigation matters across the United States.

    He was a contender in the mayoral race to become the 60th Mayor of Atlanta, Georgia and has held significant roles such as the Executive Director of the City of Atlanta Workforce Development Agency (AWDA).

    During his tenure at AWDA, Michael Sterling successfully turned around the agency, rescuing it from closure by addressing city audit and state criticisms, implementing organizational restructuring, and emphasizing improved customer service.

    Prior to his work at AWDA, he served as the Senior Advisor to the Mayor of Atlanta, where he played a key role in advising on matters related to criminal justice, labor issues, judicial appointments, and managing relationships at state and federal levels for the city.

    Michael also has a background as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Illinois with the Department of Justice and has worked as an associate attorney at Sidley Austin in Chicago.

    His educational background includes a summa cum laude Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Morehouse College.

    Noteworthy accolades include being recognized as one of Atlanta’s 20 People to Watch in 2015 by Creative Loafing Magazine, a 2016 honoree in the Fulton County Daily Report, and named a Black Enterprise Modern Man: "Atlanta’s Public Servant" in 2015.
