Michael Simms

Michael Simms is a seasoned technical manager with over two decades of experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX and the Microsoft SQL Server stack.

He is a veteran speaker at technical user groups and trade shows, sharing knowledge acquired from his extensive experience.

In his role as the Practice Director, Data and Analytics/Principal Architect, Michael is responsible for scoping, designing, and overseeing the technical architecture of data-centric projects.

He leads a team of architects, engineers, and consultants, providing coaching and guidance to ensure project success.

Michael excels in articulating the value proposition to clients, engaging with key personnel, and fostering trusted advisor relationships.

His expertise includes data cleansing, migration, warehouse design, data mart architecture, database administration, replication, and Dynamics AX upgrades/implementations.

As the Director of Enterprise Data Management, he focuses on developing new data offerings for digital transformation, such as data quality and performance tuning services.

Michael is currently driving advancements in analytics and digital transformation, particularly in Microsoft Cortana Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science.

His specialties include Performance Tuning, SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Analytics/Business Intelligence, Dynamics AX, Power BI, SQL Server Replication, and Panorama.

He holds degrees in Electrical Engineering, Economics, and Mathematics/Economics from Youngstown State University and The Ohio State University.
