Michael Sapienza is the Chief Executive Officer of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, driven by the personal loss of his mother to the disease in 2009. His dedication to the cause has led him to inspire the colorectal cancer community to work towards ending the disease within our lifetime.
Previously, he founded and served as President of The Chris4Life Colon Cancer Foundation and played a key role in merging the foundation with the Colon Cancer Alliance, forming the largest colon cancer-specific nonprofit organization in the nation.
Recognized for his advocacy and contributions, Michael is a member of The Ruesch Center for the Cure of GI Cancer's Advisory Board at Georgetown University. He has been honored with prestigious industry awards, including the David Jagelman, MD Award for advocacy in Colorectal Cancer Awareness.
An active figure in promoting funding for colorectal cancer research and early detection, Michael frequently participates in TV and radio programs across the United States. He is an alumnus of Northwestern University and Rice University, holding degrees in Music from both institutions, and currently resides in Washington, D.C.
