Michael Rain

Michael Rain is the founder of ENODI, a research and media company focused on highlighting the lives, cultural innovations, and entrepreneurial work of individuals with immigrant backgrounds, particularly of African, Caribbean, and Latin descent who identify as Black. He is also the executive producer and host of The ENODI Podcast. With a TED Talk that has garnered over 1 million views in 28 languages, Michael has been twice selected as a TED Resident and was a 2020 Knight Fellow at Stanford University, concentrating on researching private digital messaging networks of immigrant communities. Michael has delivered keynotes, moderated panels, and conducted workshops at various institutions, including the U.S. Department of State, Google, SAP, Santander, Morgan Stanley, Harvard Business School, Wharton, and Columbia Law School. He is an experienced communications professional, advising Fortune 50 companies on communications, reputation management, thought leadership, crisis, and diversity campaigns. Michael holds a BA in Political Science from Columbia University and has completed studies at the John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship at Stanford University, Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, and Brooklyn Technical High School. A Ghanaian-American, he is currently on leave in Silicon Valley after residing as a lifelong New Yorker and Brooklyn native.
