Marie Powell

Michael Powell, a professional with a diverse background in the insurance industry, has a strong educational foundation from Thomas Beckett RC Upper School.

He currently serves as a Research Manager (General Insurance) at Defaqto, where he leads research initiatives in the insurance sector.

Prior to his current role, Michael held positions of increasing responsibility at Defaqto, starting as a Researcher in General Insurance and progressing to Assistant Research Manager for General Insurance and Protection.

Before his time at Defaqto, Michael gained hands-on experience in the financial sector, working as an Evening Support Clerk in the Barclaycard Referrals Team.

He also enriched his skills in insurance by serving as an Administration Assistant to the Financial Controller at M C Edwards Insurance Brokers Ltd (MCE) and as a Trainee Insurance Advisor at Colonnade Insurance Brokers Ltd.
