Michael Morris is a highly accomplished music professional, known for his exceptional talents in orchestration, vocal arranging, and music direction for live theatre and recordings.
Having graduated from Berklee College of Music with a focus on Commercial Arranging, Michael quickly made a mark in the music industry, becoming a professor at the young age of 18.
His impressive portfolio includes arranging and orchestrating recordings for renowned artists like Liza Minelli & Alan Cumming, Christine Ebersole, and the London Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras, among others.
Michael has also showcased his expertise in various regional theatres across the United States including Goodspeed Opera House, Barrington Stage, and Signature Theatre.
Currently, as the resident Music Director at the Ivoryton Playhouse in Essex, CT, he continues to excel in his role with dedication and passion.
His contributions extend beyond theatre, having served as a dance arranger for national tours and as a music supervisor/vocal arranger for notable productions like Make Me A Song: The Music of William Finn.
Michael's talents have resonated globally, with his arrangements and orchestrations featured in entertainment productions in theme parks worldwide, from HersheyPark to China's Chimelong Ocean Kingdom.
In addition to his work in the theatre and theme parks, he is also an award-winning songwriter, having crafted jingles for national broadcast and composed music for corporate events and plays, including several works by Shakespeare.
As the Owner of Michael Morris Music Service and a former Director of Music for The Hartt School Theatre Division at the University of Hartford, Michael Morris continues to inspire and elevate the world of music through his exceptional skills and vast experience.
