My team focuses on generating speech analytics insights to improve customer experience during insurance claims. As a senior data scientist, I contribute to the strategic roadmap for AI initiatives and provide technical oversight on development of NLP models. I also work closely with our business stakeholders to better understand data science opportunities in claims processes.

As a member of Klick’s Consulting practice, we help our clients in the health and pharmaceutical spaces to generate value from their data. We work with companies at varying levels of data maturity, from startups that are just beginning their data journey to major corporations seeking to innovate with new products and services. Major areas of focus for my work included data science strategy, e-commerce analytics, competitive analysis, partnership exploration, and stakeholder research.

I served as a subject matter expert on biomedical engineering and machine learning, applying my knowledge to projects and proposals to advance patient and consumer health. These projects included research on digital biomarkers for disease tracking and early diagnosis, as well as the development of a personalized nutrition platform.

Biomedical Engineering Specialist, Labs

Designed a non-contact system for monitoring of heart rate and respiratory rate using infrared video for applications in sleep monitoring and sleep apnea detection. The results of our feasibility study on healthy adults during simulated sleep were published in IEEE BHI.

Toronto Rehabilitation Institute

Research Assistant

Analyzed data from a brain-computer interface based on transcranial Doppler ultrasound. Increases in cerebral blood flow were indicative of brain activity, and using statistical techniques (linear discriminant analysis and sequential hypothesis testing), we were able to determine if a user intended to select a letter on an onscreen keyboard.

Supported pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment performance as part of the Production Technical team. Activities included creating and maintaining production metrics, conducting analysis of existing inventory, equipment qualification, and drafting standard operating procedures.

Assisted in quantitative analysis of soil samples using techniques including DNA extraction, cell culture, PCR, qPCR, and gel electrophoresis.
