Michael Jansen
Michael Jansen is a renowned architect, urbanist, and entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in founding and leading high-growth companies in the US and Asia. After studying at Yale and Cambridge, he worked as an architect in India and China, leading the Asia practices of two major US international architecture firms. In 2004, he founded a BIM services company in India, which grew to over 500 employees in just four years. In 2010, he took over as CEO at Cityzenith and set out to revolutionize the way we use data to transform the urban environment globally.
Michael has appeared on CNN, CNBC, BBC, and several major business, government, and AEC publications worldwide, and has received several awards, including the "40 Under 40" accolade from Building Design + Construction. In 2014, he was recognized as a World Cities Summit Young Leader in Singapore for his contribution to improving sustainability and life quality in cities, and in 2019, he received the Chicago Innovation Award for Cityzenith's groundbreaking work in the digital twin arena.
Apart from architecture, Michael is passionate about swimming, playing the guitar, and reading political and science news. He speaks Chinese and Hindi fluently and has visited over 90 countries. He is also a proud husband and father of three.
