Michael Tarr

Michael ('Jack') Tarr is an accomplished senior executive with a diverse background in organizational and management skills acquired through extensive service in the Royal Navy.

Throughout his career, Tarr has held various key roles such as Command of a 5,000-ton Destroyer, Chief-of-Staff at Europe's largest naval training establishment, and Deputy Chief Executive at a nuclear submarine operating base, showcasing his strong leadership and communication abilities.

His global experience includes sea-going and shore appointments across the world, participating in combat operations in West Africa and the Gulf, as well as contributing to NATO operations in Afghanistan which led to him being honored with an OBE.

Tarr possesses expertise in multi-national team-building and stakeholder engagement gained from challenging overseas postings in Europe and the Middle East, emphasizing cross-cultural interactions.

In more recent endeavors, Michael Tarr served as a Project Manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland, overseeing multi-disciplinary activities of technical teams for Digital Infrastructure support to online and mobile banking projects.

His professional journey includes roles at organizations like FDM Group as a Senior Consultant, Imperial College London as a Technology Delivery Manager, and Fubra Limited as a Strategic Management Consultant, among others.

He has also contributed as a Management Consultant at the Strathclyde Building Preservation Trust, a Trustee at the Maritime Rescue Institute, and held high-ranking positions within the Royal Navy, including Deputy Base Commander at HM Naval Base Clyde and Head of Fleet Staff at the Royal Navy of Oman.
