Michael Hwang
Ph.D. Candidate - Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
Michael Hwang is a final year Ph.D. student at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, under the co-advisement of Bert Vogelstein and Kenneth Kinzler.
His research focuses on developing precision immunotherapeutic strategies to target genetic alterations in cancer.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Cellular & Molecular Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Michael has been involved in various research roles, including as a Graduate Researcher at the Ludwig Center at Johns Hopkins, and as a Research Intern in Molecular Diagnostics & Cancer Cell Biology at Genentech.
Prior to this, he gained research experience as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Weinberg Lab at Whitehead Institute and the Hynes Lab at MIT Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research.
His earlier scientific curiosity led him to research roles as a High-school Researcher in the Knudsen Lab at Fred Hutch.
