Michael Dennehy

Michael Dennehy is the Executive Director of College Access and Student Success at Boston University's Wheelock College of Education and Human Development. He has held this position since April 2018, where he oversees various college access programs, including precollege, undergraduate, and graduate initiatives. His role also includes coordinating the BU AACTE Holmes program and serving as the BU Posse Liaison and advisor to the Menino Scholars.12

Background and Experience

Dennehy has a long history with Boston University, having previously served as the Director of College Access and Completion from September 2014 to March 2018, and as Director of Upward Bound programs from November 2007 to August 2014. His career in education began as an undergraduate tutor with TRIO Upward Bound, reflecting his commitment to supporting first-generation college students.134

Education

He holds both a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration, both from Boston University. Dennehy is also a graduate of the Boston Public Schools.23
