Michael Cooper

Michael Cooper is a Trans-Tasman patent and trade marks attorney based in Melbourne, Australia. He is the Director of Cooper IP, serving clients in Melbourne and Tasmania. With over a decade of experience in the intellectual property (IP) industry, Michael has a strong background in establishing and implementing IP protection strategies. His expertise includes obtaining, enforcing, and advising on patents and registered design rights across various technical fields such as mining, energy, water treatment, automotive, manufacturing, medical devices, sports goods, apparel, and consumer products.

Before transitioning into the IP industry in 2007, Michael worked as a mechanical engineer both locally and internationally starting in 2002. His engineering career includes working with a gas turbine manufacturer and in the automotive sector, specializing in interior trim and plastics.
