SDE I in AWS AQUA.

AQUA (Advanced Query Accelerator) is a new distributed and hardware-accelerated cache that enables Amazon Redshift to run up to 10x faster than other enterprise cloud data warehouses by automatically boosting certain types of queries. AQUA is available with the RA3.16xlarge, RA3.4xlarge, or RA3.xlplus nodes at no additional charge and with no code changes.

Software Development Engineer

Built a new software framework for a Ford Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) from the ground up with modularity and speed being the priority. Worked with and helped develop and benchmark sensor drivers for LIDAR and GPS for ADAS use.

Participated in an intern hackathon team where the team built an end-to-end technical system in 2 days and pitched the idea/demo to a judging panel.

Ford Motor Company

Controls & Automated Systems Intern

Projects involved work with both the Autonomous Vehicles department and Driver Assisted Technologies department split between individual and team projects.

Individual project:
-Obtained experience in using Ford’s Virtual Driver System (VDS) for autonomous vehicle research
-Built shell script that lowered VDS install times on autonomous vehicle platforms (AVPs) by 90%

Intern group projects: 
-Assisted with an AVP build and part documentation
-Surveyed ~750 internal employees about a potential new F150 DAT feature and determined a need existed
-Built a Python program to help the DAT team parse corrupted simulation data
-Evaluated and interacted with over 20 startups from the Plug and Play Detroit Summit and Ford Techstars for potential collaboration
-Completed 10 FTEP trainings relating to Ford’s design and manufacturing processes

Driver Assisted Technologies Intern

Worked in the Research and Innovation Center's Human Occupant Package Simulator (HOPS) Lab.
-Helped conduct research in vehicle ergonomics for elderly drivers
-Collected vehicle ingress/egress data from over 5 elderly test subjects via motion capture modeling
-Conducted data processing and analysis on over 15 sets of ingress/egress data for ergonomics evaluation
