Michael Bishop is a passionate advocate for the clean-energy industry, striving to accelerate the transition to a clean-energy economy.

In April 2020, he founded Pause Grid LLC to provide resources for clean-energy practitioners and adopters.

Michael teaches comprehensive classes on solar + storage + flexible-load economics through NABCEP and PG&E, aiming to make learning both fun and memorable.

He serves on the editorial advisory committees of SolarReviews and Solar-Estimate.org, focusing on solar-savings forecasting.

As a volunteer for CALSSA, he developed and maintains the 'SGIP Dash' tool, aiding clean-energy practitioners in extracting insights from the California SGIP battery-incentive dataset.

Additionally, he contributes to NREL's typical-usage-profile data project as part of the technical advisory group.

Engaging in volunteer solar installations with GRID Alternatives and SunWork, Michael continues to build expertise in solar and energy-storage installations.

From 2006 to 2017, he developed the OnGrid solar financial modeling tool, which played a pivotal role in framing solar decisions as both environmental and financial considerations.

Although his ownership of OnGrid (the company) in 2016-2017 did not succeed, it provided invaluable learning experiences.

Living with his family in a tiny house on wheels in Oakland, CA, Michael values a minimalist lifestyle in a 200-square-foot space.
