Our intent is to help students in complex Air Force fields "left-shift" that Ah-Ha! moment that comes from years of experience. Those years come at a high training cost and should never be replaced. Rather, we intend to make each moment in training more valuable and productive.

- I created the Q5id Emerging Technologies (ET) Center of Excellence, reporting directly to the CEO.
- I authored the ET mission and an actionable strategic plan to “Intake, Organize, Prioritize, Plan, Resource, Execute, Inform, and Educate.” to put Q5id in the lead of proven identity.
- I initiated and led R&D to reduce friction in biometric capture, document verification, and OpenID Connect (OIDC) integration with novel approaches for general identity management while also
reducing external vendor dependencies.
- I created Swagger Open API integrations for “no-code” environments using Postman and O365.
- I created the internal concept of "Social Accountability" through a digital, self-sovereign, proven identity that led to practical applications for 1:1 identity proving, “Know Your Employee” (KYE) and a practical approach to defense against social media bots.

Chief Innovation Officer

I led a team of startup engineers through the maturation of the Q5id Proven Identity solution into a
full microservice SaaS offering protecting online transactions. 
- I evolved the engineering processes from completing a single release in 18 months to 1 release per month, which burned down a large defect list and uncovered numerous opportunities for product improvement. 
- I designed and implemented an agile team cadence to more formally keep the creative iteration and implementation process on track, constantly producing incremental improvements. 
- I removed major constraints and led the strategy to iteratively scale operations to support B2B anti-fraud efforts in financial and other high risk sectors.

VP of Software Engineering

AWS Elemental MediaConvert is a file-based video transcoding service with broadcast-grade features. It allows customers to easily create video-on-demand (VOD) content for broadcast and multi-screen delivery at scale. 

I led a team of engineers who created and maintained video transcoding pipeline features for our AWS and on-site services. My team maintained CentOS/RHEL platforms, Jenkins and AWS CodeBuild build pipelines, Snapper automated test suites, and the long term architecture and implementation of various feature sets such as captions formats, image sequence transcoding and audio encoding (Dolby ATMOS, FLAC, e.g.)

Software Development Manager

I led a team of Systems Engineers performing infrastructure automation, build automation and embedded development delivering prototype and production level systems for next generation vehicles.  My team and I utilized cloud based and local hybrid environments to create development automation that deploys onto target hardware seamlessly utilizing proprietary and open source tools such as GitLab, Artifactory, Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Consul, Vault, Vagrant, FOSS-ology, e.g to build, deploy and test C/C++ embedded software on custom automotive grade hardware.  We supported over 1500 developers coordinated through a managed Jira stack with integrated collaboration tools such as Slack, all enabling a Scaled Agile (SAFe) process to produce quality, peer reviewed code.
-Created and led the Global Software Development Operations group that brings together engineers across 6 countries to standardize and automate core development practices.
-Led the early core engineering team to build out development automation and low level system virtualization for critical Land Rover vehicle line.
-Led planning and technology roadmap for migration from AWS to GCP further standardizing development operations across the entire company.
-Led first phase of a next generation vehicle platform implementation to prove future cutting edge core vehicle systems concepts mixing Android based devices and embedded RTOS systems.

I provided strategic guidance and operational process to ensure strong quality focus is fully integrated into the mindset, daily work and culture of the Open Software Technology Center (OSTC).  Through direct mentoring, process design, and tool selection & optimization I built quality into every step of development, to include defining how we approach problems and how we communicate solutions to guarantee their future impact.  Increasing the volume and focus of cross team conversations while instructing both designers and developers how to collaborate effectively and stay aligned in purpose and expectations is the core of my quality strategy.

Software Quality Assurance Strategy

I kept "eyes on the horizon" at FINE to streamline technology and operations through strategic software projects that integrated FINE people, technology and business goals. I managed and directed multiple web projects to solve client business problems and helped realize design goals by providing information architecture and strategy consulting.  Other contributions included designing internal tools and approaches to Enterprise Information Management while continually improving internal QA tools and procedure.

Engineering Team Lead for developing horizontal systems/human integration patterns and user-centered designs for joint operational software in the AN/USQ-163 Falconer Air Operations Center Weapon System.  The system integrates 52 disparate 3rd party systems in a multi-platform VMWare/VSphere environment used for integrated Command and Control of Air and Space Operations for the US Air Force.

Senior Systems Analyst

Supervised and coordinated 56 contract and military senior analysts through over 250 staff actions and project timelines to integrate and synchronize Department of Defense and government agency (FBI, DEA, DHS, State, Treasury) actions in Central and Southwest Asia.

United States Air Force

Deputy Division Chief, Combating Terrorism Division

Primary flight evaluator, inspector, and flight standards policy-maker for the main force-providing Air Force headquarters, leading a group of 14 management and line supervisor level officers  to develop, standardize, and enforce guidance and procedures that ensure safe flight operations and validated qualifications for 93 subordinate Air Force flying units.

Led and supervised 19 senior civilian and active duty personnel administering flight and ground safety programs for the largest Air Force installation in the Pacific. Secured over $4.0B in aircraft assets and ensured safe execution of maintenance and construction projects for a population of 24k+ personnel  and 26 operational squadrons.

Chief, Wing Safety

Directed and executed operations and training for 35 pilots and 27 assigned aircraft worth $1.1B.  Planned, programmed and managed the annual flying program worth over $131M ensuring maximum training efficiency and unit readiness. Orchestrated unit deployment operations including budgeting, logistics, and coordination with host country representatives and leadership.

Director of Operations, 67th Fighter Squadron

Managed and supervised 14 officer and enlisted personnel setting and enforcing flight operations policies and standards for the largest Operations Group in the Air Force. Chief evaluator for over 56 flight and 76 ground operations evaluators spanning nine diverse squadrons.

Led execution of daily operations and training for 42 pilots, over 30,081 annual training events and 8,700+ flights.

Led NATO Defensive Operations Branch conducting Air Defense of the United Kingdom.  Supervised up to nine operations shift workers from six NATO partner countries.
