Michael Blayney

Michael B. Blayney is an accomplished environmental health & safety professional with nearly forty years of experience in scientific, technical, and regulatory management across academia, government, and private industry. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial, Technological & Occupational Education from the University of Maryland College Park, a Master's Degree in Science Education from Syracuse University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology & Environmental Science from Hampshire College.

Throughout his career, Michael has held various significant positions, including Executive Director of Research Safety at Northwestern University, Vice President at Hanover Water Works Company, Director of Environmental Health & Safety at Dartmouth College, Occupational Safety & Health Specialist at the National Institutes of Health, Environmental Health Officer at SUNY Health Science Center (Upstate) at The State University of New York, Earth & Physical Sciences Teacher at Cato-Meridian Central School District, Molecular Biologist II at Allied Signal Corporation, and Research Technician in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Michael is also emergency management qualified and has an extensive background in leadership, mentorship, and writing. He is an executive, leader, mentor, author, and multimedia producer. Beyond work, he enjoys cycling, art, music, and the wonders of science.
