Found network routing inefficiency, removal of which halved the latency. Changed the metric used to report music player performance to a less noisy and more meaningful one. Negotiated the cancellation of a costly project that was no longer needed.

Worked with cross functional team to reduce time from dock to revenue .

Built MQL-based grafana drill down dashboard builder, used it for tracking memory consumption in the substrate fleet, and subsequently in deployment optimization efforts to meet order of magnitude increase in deployment rate. Deployment process crossed half a dozen services in four languages.

Startup. Platform Engineering team working in C++ and Python. C++ designing, developing highly-available, high-performance, distributed big-data analytics platform (cython/pyspark, and new C++ replacement for spark.)
Python/Cython library interface between Machine Learning/Data Science layer and compute platform layer. Designed and developed independent health monitoring, reporting and alerting system, to collect analytics on installed system performance and early warning of data flow issues using python on site, and AWS application gateway, lambda and Postgres, and integrated third party alerting tool. Added tracking prospective customer engagements for Solutions Architecture group,  Platform bug fixes/enhancements to support finding advanced persistent threats in a network.

Staff Engineer

Working in Java, switched procurement system data source from magento DB to restful API. Added new rule to wait for truck unloading to a custom AI expert system generating pick and ship requests to the warehouses. Created a reporting/alerting/auto-ticketing (Jira)system in Java and MySQL to highlight ASAP shipments that fail due to incorrect/incomplete foreign data. Found (splunk) and fixed issue with time optimization causing needless and expensive “zone 7” shipments (mongoDb). Added a third core warehouse to the shipment expert system, converting binary preferences to ordered lists, creating integration test infrastructure (MySql, MongoDb). Also modyfied the geomap service to programmatically add the new warehouse location, and creating a sane way to roll out the data (RedisDb). In PHP and angular JS, modified the fulfillment service dashboard to allow access to historical data. Found and fixed a timezone issue that was causing backups to silently fail ten weeks out of every year.
