Micah Herstand is a proactive, full-stack software engineer with over 15 years of experience in software design, architecture, and development. He has a passion for creating intuitive user experiences and is a perceptive user advocate. Micah enjoys collaborating with passionate colleagues, engaging in entrepreneurship, and exploring blue ocean strategies. With expertise in designing, developing and managing distributed systems, RESTful API architecture, and open data integration, Micah has served as a Technical Lead at Capgemini and previously led development teams at Squad and TodayTix. His experience in front-end web development includes JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, React, Jest, and browser debugging. He has also worked with AWS, Node.js, PHP, Java, Scala, MongoDB, MySQL, Apache, Nginx, Linux/Unix, and other technologies. Micah holds a degree in computer science from Washington University in St. Louis and has published research papers in HCI and Information Systems. He has also served as an instructor at the Startup Institute and a freelance journalist at The Advocate magazine. Outside of work, Micah has acted with several theater groups and is a skilled public speaker.
