Mia Howard

Mia Howard is a Senior Partner at NewSchools Venture Fund, overseeing the Innovative Schools investment area with a focus on supporting educators driving innovative visions for schools.

Before her current role, Mia founded and led the Schools and Talent sector at The Opportunity Trust, spearheading strategies for creating and launching pioneering schools in St. Louis.

She also founded and served as the CEO of Intrepid College Prep Schools, a network of public charter schools in Nashville, Tennessee, showcasing her dedication to education.

Mia's educational background includes a Juris Doctor degree with a concentration in Business Economics and Public Policy from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and the Wharton School, along with a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from Vanderbilt University.

Active in non-profit work, Mia is an alumnus of the Posse Foundation and serves on the board of NAMI St. Louis, contributing to mental health advocacy.

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Mia now calls St. Louis home where she shares her life with her dog, Fizzy, and enjoys activities like beach relaxation, pop culture discussions, and exploring new dining experiences.
