Mette Westander

Mette Westander is a multifaceted individual with a strong educational background and an impressive array of experiences. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Oxford, where she achieved a 2:1. Currently, Mette is the Founding Director of Disabled Students UK, an organization comprising students from 30 different universities advocating for equal access for disabled students through various initiatives such as lobbying, research, and networking. Alongside her professional responsibilities, she is pursuing a Master of Science in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology at Birkbeck, University of London, with a focus on working memory, attention, and computational models of brain function. Mette's research journey has seen her contribute to esteemed institutions like the Bays Lab at Cambridge University and The Brain and Cognition Lab at Oxford University. Her research interests extend to areas like morality, cognitive biases, and neurodiversity. Beyond her academic and advocacy roles, Mette is deeply passionate about Effective Altruism and writing.
