Merelda Wu

Merelda Wu is a Co-Founder and CEO of Melio AI, an MLOps consultancy that helps clients deploy and commercialize their AI projects.2 She previously worked as a Lead Data Scientist and Team Lead at BSG from September 2017 to December 2018.2

Merelda holds BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.12 She has over 8 years of experience in data science, data engineering, and data analytics, working across various sectors including banking, insurance, technology, healthcare, and manufacturing.2

As an MLOps evangelist, Merelda is passionate about making AI more accessible and seamless for businesses. She co-organizes the Cloud Native Computing Foundation's Johannesburg chapter and is an active speaker in the tech community.12

In addition to her role at Melio AI, Merelda is also the creator of Highwind, an AI marketplace that allows data scientists to search, extend, buy, and sell AI use cases.2 Her mission is to understand how businesses operate, experiment with different methodologies, and create tools to shape the ways humans interact with each other.2
