EJ Smith is a dedicated and lifelong learner, an expert in Smart Cities, Open Access Networks, and Sustainability, with a diverse academic and professional background. He holds various graduate degrees, including a Master of Engineering in Smart/ Sustainabile Cities, a Master's degree in Sustainable Smart Cities, and a Master's degree in Intercultural Studies. His undergraduate education includes a BA in History, Social Science, for Secondary Education, and a Chinese Language and Culture certificate.

Smith has an extensive work history, which includes working in senior management positions and as a consultant for government and private sector clients. He founded the Greensmith Consultants and also co-founded the LEAP Group, aimed at Learning Entrepreneurship via Apprenticeship. Smith has held various roles, including Project Coordinator/ GIS Manager, Account Services Manager, Business Intelligence Analyst, Sr. Inside Sale Representative, Technical Support Specialist, Customer Service Representative, and Office Manager.

Currently, Smith works as a consultant for the Smart Cities Division at Quadrus Corporation, where he leverages his vast experience building, installing, and maintaining smart city infrastructure. He is passionate about sustainability, city planning, and accessible technology, and leverages his expertise to create impactful solutions for clients, especially in the public sector.
