Melissa Chen

Melissa Chen is a software engineer intern who recently worked at Lyft, specifically on the Lyft Pink & Memberships team from May to August 2022. She is currently a PhD student at Northwestern University, focusing on computer science. During her internship, she was involved in redesigning existing frameworks to improve performance and consistency within the team.13

In addition to her internship experience at Lyft, Melissa has also interned at Facebook and held leadership roles such as Growth Chair for the Illinois Women in Computer Science organization. Her academic background includes a strong focus on artificial intelligence and education, demonstrating her commitment to diversity and inclusion in tech through various initiatives.24

Outside of her professional endeavors, Melissa enjoys engaging in puzzle games and mystery TV shows, reflecting her diverse interests beyond academia.
