Melisa Farke is an experienced writer, editor, and a passionate traveler. She is a South Dakota native who has a diverse experience of working and traveling around the world. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Theology/Philosophy from the University of Sioux Falls and MS in Journalism from South Dakota State University. In 2013, Melisa was awarded a student fellowship from The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting to research and report on human trafficking in Cambodia. Melisa has also been published in The Christian Century and featured in Nuotta, a Finnish youth culture magazine.
Melisa has worked as a Content Writer at Paulsen, Senior Creative Coordinator, and Creative Coordinator at Midcontinent, and Copywriter at Lawrence & Schiller. She has also worked as an Independent Consultant for Content and PR at Senator Larry Pressler. Specializing in writing, editing, copywriting, and copy editing, Melisa has immense expertise in travel writing, budget travel, culture, spirituality, social justice, and human trafficking. She resides in Sioux Falls with her husband and daughter and is looking forward to adopting a pet hedgehog.
