Mehdi Varandi

Mehdi Naderi Varandi is a Computer Science Undergraduate at Newcastle University with a strong passion for all things related to Technology. His interests range from designing innovative solutions to leading teams of Computer Science mentors to educate the local community and motivate future coders.

Mehdi pursued a MComp with Industrial Placement in Computer Science at Newcastle University and excelled academically, also completing A Levels in Psychology, Economics, and Computer Science at Loreto Sixth Form College.

His professional journey includes internships at prestigious organizations such as Goldman Sachs, WonderBill, Visa, and UBS, where he gained hands-on experience in software engineering and knowledge management. Mehdi's achievements include clinching the 3rd Place at the BGN Hackathon hosted by Google and being recognized as the Computer Science, IT, and Physics Undergraduate of the Year 2019 by TARGETjobs UK.

Furthermore, he has actively contributed to various roles such as Outreach Officer at Newcastle University Computing and Technology, Computer Science Mentor at BBC, and Student Ambassador at Loreto Sixth Form College, demonstrating his commitment to engaging with the community and fostering future talent in the field of Computer Science.
