Megumi Ikeda

Megumi Ikeda is a seasoned professional in the venture capital industry, with a rich background spanning over a decade. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University, and an MBA in business finance from UCLA Anderson School of Management, where she honed her skills in management and investment. She furthered her education in management by attending the prestigious London Business School and undertaking a study program at the Stanford Japan Center in Kyoto. Her diverse background includes experience in journalism as a financial correspondent for Dow Jones and editor at Kodansha Ltd. She embarked on her venture capital career as Vice President at NBC Universal, where she managed and oversaw businesses in various countries. During her time at NBC, she also served as a Partner at the Peacock Equity Fund, a $250 million venture capital fund. She then moved on to become the General Manager and Managing Director for Europe at Hearst Ventures, a division of one of the world’s largest media conglomerates, Hearst. At Hearst, she managed venture investments in European media and technology companies, also serving as a board member and observer for numerous ventures, such as Signal Ai, The Plum Guide, Geophy HQ, Sundancetv, and Bigpoint GmbH. Currently, she continues to make an impact in the venture capital industry as a board member for Signal Ai. Although she has lived in various parts of the world, Megumi’s tastebuds remain firmly Japanese.
