Medha Makhlouf
Professor of Law and Founding Director of the Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic at Penn State Dickinson Law
Medha Makhlouf is a distinguished Professor of Law at Penn State Dickinson Law, where she holds the title of Elsie de R. and Samuel P. Orlando Distinguished Professor. She is also the founding director of the Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic, which focuses on integrating legal and health services to address health disparities among vulnerable populations.
Her academic and research interests lie at the intersection of health law, immigrants' rights, and poverty law and policy. Professor Makhlouf's recent scholarship has been published in prestigious journals, including the New York University Law Review and the California Law Review Online.13
In addition to her role at Dickinson Law, she has a joint appointment in the Department of Public Health Sciences at Penn State College of Medicine. Professor Makhlouf actively engages in initiatives aimed at promoting health equity, exemplified by her co-hosting of the "Health Equity Immersion" program, which provides experiential learning opportunities for students to understand the systemic barriers affecting health outcomes in underserved communities.12
