Mayank Batheja is the Founder and CEO of Credenc Web Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a fintech startup based in Delhi that specializes in providing education loans to students. Established in 2017, Credenc aims to bridge the financing gap for higher education in India, particularly for students from non-top-tier institutions, by utilizing a proprietary AI model to assess loan applications based on predicted future income rather than traditional financial metrics.13

Background and Education

Batheja holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree from Delhi University. He has an extensive background in entrepreneurship and finance, having co-founded multiple ventures including Letsintern.com, which became one of the largest student internship platforms globally, and Envisage Solutions.14 His early career included significant roles at Lenskart and GirnarSoft, where he led initiatives in auto finance and insurance.24

Achievements at Credenc

Under Batheja's leadership, Credenc has disbursed over ₹160 crore (approximately $20 million) in loans to more than 3,000 students. The company recently secured an investment of $25 million to expand its operations further.1 Credenc's unique selling proposition lies in its advanced digital platform that rigorously evaluates student loan applications, aiming to ensure that deserving students can access necessary funding for their education.35

Vision

Batheja's vision for Credenc is to significantly increase the volume of loans disbursed, targeting ₹100 crore per month by the end of the year and aiming for ₹3,000 crore by 2025. He emphasizes the importance of making education accessible to all students, regardless of their financial background.13
