Maya is a graduate of the University of California with a degree in Landscape Architecture/Garden Design, FDA Regulatory Practices and has attended the University of Phoenix for her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

She is currently a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner at QuantumScape and had previously served as Sr. Mgr., Talent Acquisition & HR Business Partner at Mizuho OSI, Sr. Tech Recruiter at BYTON, Sr. Technical Recruiter at Lucid Motors & ZapLabs, and Talent Acquisition Manager at ARYZTA, among others.
