May-yi Shaw is a U.S.-born and Taiwan-raised individual known as a 'third culture kid'. She is fluent in English and Chinese and proficient in Japanese. With a BA in Political Science and East Asian Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from Harvard University, May-yi bridges humanities and social science through teaching, mentoring, and storytelling. Having lived globally, she aims to instill global citizenship in her children and pursue her interests in Asian literature and cross-cultural studies in Singapore.
