Maximilian Erb is an accomplished venture capitalist with expertise in deal sourcing, portfolio management, tech, and market screening, contract negotiation, business development, and transaction structuring. He is currently the Associate Director at NRW Venture Capital where he is responsible for the VC value chain, including direct and fund investments, with his industry sector focus being high tech companies in blockchain/crypto assets, agriculture, smart grid hard & software, cybersecurity, and industrial IT/IoT. Max was involved in several successful exit transactions during recent years, and his current investment vehicle is NRW Bank Venture Fund 3 with a total volume of €100m.
Max holds a master's degree in Economics from both Universität zu Köln and Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, and he also studied economics at San Diego State University-California State University. Before joining NRW Venture Capital, he was an LP at SET Ventures and held leadership positions in several startups, including serving as member of the board at UBIRCH GmbH, Enerthing GmbH, Novihum Technologies GmbH, and GreenPocket GmbH. He also acted as a Board Observer at Direvo Industrial Biotechnology GmbH and served as Tech & Market Research support at High-Tech Gründerfonds.
